Rotala indica is a widespread aquarium plant, which has gained its popularity thanks to beautiful leaves, flowers. It has several variants of the name, the most common among them: ammania bonsai, "Indian bowl of tooth."
In the natural environment it is found in freshwater bodies of Asia, India, China, Japan, Vietnam and other territories. Artificially bred on rice fields in Africa, Italy, Portugal, USA. Ammania bonsai belongs to annuals.
Ammania bonsai - grows to a height of 0.6 m. The leaves are ovoid in shape about 3 cm in length. The main part of the leaf is green, and the top is pink. Rotala indica is a flowering plant. Peduncles are placed one in the leaf sinuses. The flower has four small pink petals.

Rotala indica propagated by cuttings or division of the bush. It is more effective for young plants to use a greenhouse. Planting material is placed in a soil covered with water. Rotale indica needs moderately bright lighting, it is capable of being under slight shading. With too much light, filamentous algae begin to grow. With a lack of light, Ammania Bonsai will turn pale, stretch. It is best to focus on the appearance of the plant. If he is comfortable, the young leaves turn red. If the plant darkens or brightens, it is necessary to change the level of illumination. In the light of the rotala indicator should be 12 hours.
Ammania bonsai feels well, getting food from the ground, but can also swim freely in the aquarium. In the second case, it grows more slowly. Ammania gets most of its nutrition from water. The soil for the plant must be selected light, shallow with a nutrient substrate, which should include iron. For this sand, fine gravel is suitable. Top dressing must be applied regularly. In addition to iron, it should contain micro and macro fertilizers, phosphates. Thanks to these components, the plant will grow well.
Additionally, CO2 can be omitted, but its presence will accelerate the growth of rotala indica.
Water temperature should be 22-28 ° C, hardness 3-8 dH, acidity 6.0-7.5. You need to change the water in the aquarium once a week and equip it with a filter.
