How to properly paste the background into the aquarium
If you want your aquarium to look more natural and resemble a living pond, transform it using a background that simulates a rocky bottom, tree roots, rocks, etc. There are several ways to design the rear wall of the aquarium. The simplest is the application of an external monophonic coating, photographic reproductions or pictures. More complex, but also giving a special look is the internal volumetric background for the aquarium.
If you bought a ready-made background, measure the inside of the back wall of the aquarium and carefully cut off the excess. As the rules, the edges of the purchased background are uneven, right angles are also pretty arbitrary.
If you need to level the base, i.e. lower edge of the background, place it on a flat plane (floor, table). Marker, without tearing, draw a line along the entire base of the background. If the gaps between the background and the plane are too large and the marker does not reach the background at some points, place a flat object (a box of matches) under it.
Degrease with acetone or special agent the back of the decoration and the inside of the back of the aquarium. After the surfaces have completely dried, wipe thoroughly with a paper towel or toilet paper to remove a thin layer of plaque remaining after acetone.
Carefully place the aquarium on the back wall. Apply glue-sealant to the glass, distributing it with a thin path along the perimeter and diagonals.
Set the background so that there are no significant voids between it and the walls. Fill the existing gaps with silicone glue. After the glue has hardened, pour water into the aquarium to get rid of its characteristic residual odor. After a day, drain the water - the aquarium is ready to run.
When attaching photographic reproductions or pictures to the outer surface of the rear wall of the aquarium, thoroughly clean it with a sponge from dust. Degrease with window cleaner to prevent it from entering the aquarium. On a wall surface previously moistened with water, attach a background, smooth evenly from the center to the edges, as when gluing wallpaper.
Use only special glue - sealant for aquariums. If you use building sealant, then make sure that it does not contain antibacterial additives that are harmful to fish.
