Water eyes (shuigon)
Water eyes (shuigon) belongs to the Karpov family. All fins are paired, with a fin missing.
Caudal and anal fin bifurcated. Huge convex eyes are considered a feature of this fish. The length of the water eye is 18 cm.
The most popular fish are silver, brown and orange colors.
In food, the fish are absolutely not picky; they eat live and plant foods. Feed Water Eyes recommended twice a day. Be sure to remove the remaining food from the aquarium.
Maintenance and care
Choosing an aquarium for shuigon should be at the rate of 10 liters for 1-2 individuals. Coarse pebbles and sand are suitable for soil. Plants need to choose large-leaved. Fish need good water filtration and natural light. Part of the water should be changed weekly.
Breeding shuigons is quite difficult. It is necessary to select manufacturers with the same size and shape of the eyes. For mating, take two males and a female and move them to spawning. The temperature should be 24-26 degrees. Spawning is stimulated by heating water by 5-10 degrees. Incubation lasts 2-3 days. Fry is fed with special food or live dust.
